Possibility to stack in tonal mode?

I havent figured out any possibility to stack the different synth sections in tonal mode (playing it chromatically with a MIDI track). Yes, you can use different MIDI tracks with the same pattern, but using one MIDI track to layer sounds I cannot figur out and if it is even possible.

Is there any possiblitiy to stack sounds in tonal mode, as example to create more complex synth sounds? Thanks for your help.

If not, this could be a nice feature.

    is there anybody?

As far as I know it is not possible.

Why not possible? In my DAW I can use 1 midi editor and draw my midi there and send it to different midi channels. That is how I stack them.

Btw. my DAW is Cockos Reaper but I would be amazed if other DAW's can't do this in 2026...

Oh, I never thought about sending different MIDI channels to Microtonic in tonal mode! Thanks for this idea. :D .... new possibilities might arise.

Im using Studio One. I know Reapers Routing possiblities, but it is not standard, especially within Studio One... In Studio One you can only send one single midi channel to microtonic, not "any" or more than one for example. Beside that you cannot trigger in Microtonic different layers with the same midi pitch (note) in tonal mode. Because I often layer sounds and also use the tonal mode in Microtonic, I cannot use the potential full potential of microtonic. This is layering up to 8 sounds in tonal mode to create rich sounds in tonal mode. it is a pity...

If I understand you correct, you should think more out of the box. If you want to use Microtonic in tonal mode AND layer sounds, you should use multiple instances of Microtonic.

In Cockos Reaper you can load those instances all on the same track so YES you can trigger them with the same note.

This is not what you want to hear but if your DAW Studio One, is lacking that kind of routing, you should OR accept its limitations OR change DAW.

Yes you are right. You can create multi instruments in Studio One. This is possible. But better would be to use one instance, but yes you are right, if it is not possible there is a need for another solution and this is a multi instrument. THe CPU usage of microtonic is low, so there is no big problem with it.

But I hope maybe the developers read this and make a small update that this could be possible because it feels a bit limited.(trigger every layer with one MIDI channel in tonal mode)

I hear you, but when was the last Microtonic update? I doubt there will be any more update for the VST...it is 20+ years old :) But maybe a version 2 with this function?
