Hi there,
I'm attempting to use Synplant 2.0.2's Genopatch feature, but the selected range of audio I'm able to work with is quite short (a couple seconds). I am trying to bring in files of modest size, eg. 20-seconds, mono 16-bit, 44.1khz, only 1.7 MB wav.
However, Synplant only lets me select a range of a few seconds. When I try to click and drag the Selected Range further out on the right hand, I am unable to make it longer. I am able to make the selected range smaller and move its center, but I can't expand the selection to a larger audio window. I have tried moving the left selector but it also only lets me make the selection smaller than the default size, not larger.
The manual states "Samples longer than 10 minutes will be truncated," but I am no where near that limit.
I'm attaching a video of the symptom in action.
I am running:
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Richard
Hi Richard, Jonathan on Sonic Charge support here.
That's because we designed Genopatch to only use up to 2 seconds of audio. When Magnus created the AI, he discovered that using longer samples or sounds would result in a worse or even unusable outcome. The sweet spot was around two seconds' worth of data.
What you are referring to is the "Load Reference Sound" section in the manual, which is the limit on the sample size that can be loaded into Synplant 2. This allows users to load a longer piece of audio and apply Genopatch to selected parts of it.
So there is nothing wrong with your Synplant or system; this is by design. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear, but let me know if you encounter any other issues or if there is something else I can help with!
Thank you Jonathan. I overlooked that sentence in the manual. I appreciate the clarification.
