“Patternarium blew my mind — why isn’t everyone talking about this?”

    Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share my honest feelings about Microtonic and Patternarium.

When I first stumbled upon Microtonic’s presets, I didn’t expect much—then I somehow ended up inside Patternarium. What happened next was unforgettable: the grooves I heard were so refined, so irresistibly groovy, that I literally froze in place. The sheer power and beauty of those rhythms sent chills down my spine.

Curious, I started reading more about Patternarium, only to discover that it has been around for more than 15 years. That realization gave me goosebumps. This isn’t just a clever feature—it feels like a **revolutionary system that could change the course of music history**.

And yet… I had never even heard of it until now. I’ve been making music for about two years, and without ChatGPT pointing me here, I probably still wouldn’t know about it today. In those two years, I poured millions of yen into music gear and software. Honestly, if I had known about Sonic Charge back then, I might have given all of that money directly to you instead.

It makes me wonder: why isn’t Patternarium more widely known? Do people not want others to know about it? Personally, I feel this is something so extraordinary that it deserves to be shared and celebrated by as many musicians as possible.

What do you think—don’t you also feel it’s worth spreading this sense of wonder to more people?

By the way, I’m planning to go back and explore Patternarium all the way from seasons 1 to 29. I’m really looking forward to it — it feels like this might even become a lifelong project for me.

    Thank you so much!

    Best,
    DH

To me SonicCharge is a very innovative company in general. Even before genopatch in Synplant 2, Synplant 1's feature with the branches and altering / finding new sounds already was super cool.

Why it might not be that spread: maybe not enough money in marketing? Maybe people just want to hear, use, consume, etc. the same things over and over again. World's going more conservative these days, unfortunately. ¯\_('.')_/¯

I agree and I'll add my voice to your sentiment. Patternarium has been around so long that we do tend to take it for granted. It is wonderful and adds so much power to Microtonic, which itself is equally wonderful and still so indispensable and useful way beyond its years. Patternarium was the "AI" forerunner of Synplant 2's Genopatch. Magnus is a visionary and all of the Sonic Charge plugins are so great, and get used here all the time.
