Permut8 intro message

    Hello,
I’m encountering the same issue on both of my machines: the intro message won’t disappear, even when the “Run introduction” option is unchecked. When the ‘Run tutorial’ message is disabled, the plugin says it won’t appear the next time it’s opened. But when I reload the plugin, the intro comes back and the ‘Run tutorial’ option is checked again every time. Would you happen to know how to fix this? That pop-up window significantly slows down my workflow.
Congratulations... this plugin is absolutely outstanding.

    Hey,

This only happens if Permut8 is not able to save its preferences. Does it also forget if you switch off "Auto-check for Updates" in the main menu?

    Mac or Windows?

    Hello Fredik,
    Thank you for your reply.
Absolutely, it also forgets the “Auto-check for Updates” setting when I relaunch Permut8. Same issue.
Indeed, Permut8 doesn’t save its preferences.
    I’m on a Mac.

    Hello Fredik,
Would you have an idea for permut8 to save its preferences?
    Best

    Does anyone have an idea?
The plugin is barely usable because on every track, each time I open it or insert it, this menu freezes everything. :/
It’s a shame because the plugin is great, but the workflow becomes really annoying with this overly intrusive intro message...

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. The preference file on Mac is saved in your Library folder, specifically this path:

    /Users/-username-/Library/Application Support/Sonic Charge/.scregistry

The best thing I can think of is that this folder (or the folder above it) has the wrong access rights, which prevents the plugin from saving the preference data.

    Things to try:

    1. Delete the folder Sonic Charge under Application Support. Check whether the plug-in can create and rewrite the file.
    2. Reset user permissions on your drive diskutil resetUserPermissions / $(id -u)

problem solved ! thanks a lot Fredik !
