Hi there,
I'm currently evaluating the demo version to see if this is a product I want to buy.
So far I'm very pleased with it, but there is one thing I can't seem to figure out, which is actually a deal breaker for me.
Before explaining what it is, let me tell you what I'm doing.
I have Ample Bass Y. I add it to a track, play one midi note, bounce that stem in place to a wave file, and drag the wave file to the genopatch to try and recreate that sound.
After it is done generating a lot of options, all sounds are in a completely different key and one octvate higher than my Ample Bass plugin. For every generated sound, I can go to the menu and choose auto transpose to get the key right, but its still an octave too high.
So if I then switch between Ample Bass Y and SynPlant 2, I have to play C3 and C4 on my keyboard in order to check if the notes are the same.
And yes, there is the play button on the Genopatch that plays the sample, but I want to audit against the source to see how it feels, and also play more than just that C note to see how much I need to tweak to get that same feeling as the source.
Am I missing an obvious tuning setting for the entire plugin that can also transpose the entire pluging to more than an octave, or is this feature missing entirely?
If something is going wrong with my import that causes the transpose, what can I do to the wav file in order to get it to automatically play correctly?
Thanks in advance,
LPChip
Any help on this? I still have 2 weeks of trial left...
There is the tune knob right at the top. Not sure, right now (not on my workstation), if this goes above an octave. You can also dive into the genes page and alter the tuning there.
Also: during genopatch processing you can select a node and play on the MIDI keyboard straight ahead to test the sound.
That tune knob is for the current stem and will set if you go to the menu -> auto transpose. In my case it goes to +6 (range is from -12 to +12, and I need it to go to 18 which I can't do. That's basically my issue. Also, that is not a global setting, but one per stem. As in, if I go to genopatch, it resets the pitch if I switch to a different node, the pitch is reset.
