    SYNPLANT SkinTools

hey to all of you. this thread is all about synplant skins, tools for synplant skin creation and related topics. i will share some insights about the tools that i use for creating synplant skins or synplant knob animations, and also share some infos about the workflow and the creation process of the ai-assisted apps that i have vibe coded with Gemini. note that i am neither a professional programmer (just vibecoding with ai) nor a professional graphic designer, i do this just for fun and entertainment in my spare time so don´t expect "too much" professionalism here hehe....
i am interested in your opinion about it, suggestions for optimization, tips, criticism or any other help.

another main question to all users, out of curiosity:

What would be YOUR favourite style/theme for a Synplant Skin?

the problem is: since i went down the rabbit hole of training a custom gemini app to generate Synplant/Microtonic Skins, it tried many different ways of training the app to make sure that EVERY generated skin is ALWAYS 100% perfectly aligned with the control elements( switches, buttons, displays, knobs etc), but i NEVER got it to work reliably. that left me with literally hundreds of generated skin backgrounds that look awesome, BUT most of them (i think 80% of all) are either slightly misaligned (eg fader slots are not where they should be) or have other small issues . i even tried to train a new gemini app that can load a batch of those skins and automatically fix the issues, this worked on some skins, bbut not on ALL. now i am at a point where i think instead of keep on going to vibe code the apps ( and to generate more and more non-usable skins), i should first pick a selection of the best ones that i allready have and manually fix their issues file by file (which is doable for a few files, But would be a pain to do with hundreds of files) so that i can upload at least a bunch of them asap.

but for the other files, ineed your help to decide which one are worth it to manually fix & finish them. in some of my last posts, i allready noticed that some of you were really into the "circuit board" styled skin, which is also one of my personal favourites. i have multiple variations of it for Synplant & Microtonic , and i think this will be the first one i will release soon .
as for other skins, some of the main skin themes i used are:
circuit board, space&galaxy, rusty industrial, vintage analog synthesizer, maya temple, floral pattern, and magic mushrooms. if you like one of these let me know, but also let me know if you have completely new ideas for skin themes/styles. for the skins i allready have, i always made several variations with individual graphic styles of each theme, eg in comic style, photorealistic style, vector style, cartoon style).

so it would be nice to get some of your opinions about YOUR favourite skin style or theme so that i can set the priority for fixing them based on the fact if people like it or not. ALSO, another point is, some of the skin backgrounds simply just don´t look good when using the default factory knobs/buttons/faders, which means i have to design custom tailored images for this skins, too.

instead of flooding the forum with hundreds of thumbnails for the skins i allready have, i decided to post them as some kind of "slideshow GIF" the last time , just to give you a short overview about ALL the skins i allready have so that you can have a quick look. but i am going to set up a poll on my website for the most favourited designs.

this would make it A LOT easier for me to select/fix the favourited skins, because in the end they are ALL supposed to be shared with you for free, so your opinion matters!
i will open a seperate thread for this topic in the next few days, where i will also describe the exact workflows of the apps and share some other infos about the process in general.

here is a "new" synplant skin preview GIF that contains 150+ skin backgrounds
(note that some of them are still not fixed, some do not contain the viewglass, etc).
if you spot any special themes or designs you like just let me know

They look incredible Philter. Like little works of art. Quite a project. I've made my share of 3 armed/6 finger characters for media stills when I've attempted to deploy AI tools for the purpose so I understand the complexity. Speaking personally, I would be partial to earthy, woody, tones with archaeological, cartographical themes for Synplant as to me those would suit the vibe better, There are several examples of this in your GIF. Including the first image. Beautiful. For Microtonic, I would lean toward steam punk, metallic, greys. I tend toward HR Giger's artwork like Nostromo in Alien, or biomechanical elements like the old Album cover for Emerson Lake and Palmer's Brain Salad Surgery. Although the circuit board design you mocked up already is incredible and a definite keeper. Too many choices is a good problem I think. It means you're on to something incredible. Best of luck.

Mate that looks incredible! I mean the ones in the Gif are so good that I can't decide either... please keep us in the loop... sadly I am not so tech savvy with replacing gui's myself... I would say maybe reduce the selection instead of the Gif to let's say 20 and share and we can vote... I love the earthy ones, the scifi landscape ones and the deep sea ones too... Great work mate!
