You guys would know better than me, but I love Microtonic and have been using it for years and I have found that it would be useful to have a "half time cut" feature because the DAW BPM doesn't necessarily agree with the feel of the track. In Ableton Live, you can specify a scene's BPM, which sometimes needs to be x2 in order to properly play the right feel for an audio clip.

Did you try the Step Rate control in Microtonic’s pattern section? It sets the pattern engine rate relative to the host tempo, so switching from 1/16 to 1/8 gives you the half-time behavior you’re describing.
